How to Get the “Vetements Look” For Fashion Week

If you are following fashion trends as closely as us, then you have noticed the massive resurgence of puffy jackets, distressed jeans, hoodies and overall streetwear on steroids thing going on thanks to current It-brand, Vetements. Golden fashion child Demna Gvasalia (also of Balenciaga) really put the brand back on the map a couple of years ago, and it seams that the “Vetements look” is still going strong, on and off the runway. Judging by the just-wrapped Paris Couture Week street style scene, the Vetements look will, without a doubt, be in full effect on the fashion set for the upcoming Fall 2017 fashion month.

If you are into this look and want to achieve it without spending a ton, here are a few tips on how to achieve it.

DIY the hems of a pair of old mom jeans; make sure the hems are uneven for a full Vetements look. Get a 90s-style puffer or a bomber — the key to the topper is to be oversized. Remember, a giant puffer is THE must-have item if you want to achieve the Vetements look. You can also layer a giant hoodie under the puffer, wear heels, and if you are feeling extra ballsy, go ahead, get those over-the-knee boots. Now, this is almost the literal interpretation of the Vetements runway look; should you want something more subtle get your boyfriend’s oversized shirt with super long sleeves and pair it with your favorite skirt and those same OTK boots. Or, wear those uneven hemmed mom jeans with a simple turtleneck, a blocked shoe and an oversized trench. The denim on denim also works.
