Givenchy Fall 2013, Best Collection of the Season

Givenchy Fall 2013, Best Collection of the Season

Modern, romantic, nostalgic, outstanding, strong, memorable. These are only a few of the superlatives worthy describing what Riccardo Tisci did for Fall 2013 and Givenchy. It is one of those fashion moments that one remembers long after the catwalk is cleared and the hustle and bustle of fashion month is over.

For starters, Tisci is replacing the iconic Rottweiler print with something a bit softer, a bit more in-tune with childhood – Bambi. And even though he stuck with many of his trademarks – like structured Gothic looks and lace – the collection was unassumingly fresh and modern thanks to the more relaxed silhouettes and colorful rose prints and paisleys.

A few noteworthy items included the grungy-chic pairings of sheer tulle ankle-length skirts embroidered with flowers juxtaposed against oversize sweaters? Or the new take on peplum – made out of top-torn motorcycle jackets.

Without a doubt the collection of the season.

We've selected a few favorites from the collection above, but head over to Style.com for all spectacular 49 looks.
