Ballet Flats Will Continue to be the It Shoe of the New Season
Ever since the Miu Miu ballet flats glided down the Fall 2022 runway in Paris, fashion enthusiasts have been eagerly adding them to their shoe collection. Designers including Maison Margiela, The Row, Khaite, Prada and Tod’s have also joined in, sending ballerinas down the catwalk during their FA22 and SS23 shows.
Yes, ballet flats are officially in for the spring season as well. Classic and easy, you can pop them on and just get on with your day. It’s the perfect shoe to spend a full day in rushing between meetings, but also classic enough to dress them up for an event after work. They are certainly easier on the feet too.
Miu Miu’s runway ballet flats have garnered immense popularity for their minimalist design. So much so that the brand has now launched the flats in an array of colors. The brand has also introduced new variations, such as heeled, square-toed, and glitter-covered versions, to cater to a diverse range of preferences. To add to the excitement, Miu Miu has also re-released an updated version of its 2016 cult style, complete with leather buckles and contrasting ribbons.
Of course, you don’t have to spent close to $1,000 on a pair if you don’t want to. Many retailers have picked up on the ballet flats trend and have released versions that are chic and affordable. Some of our favorites are below.
