Gucci Opens GG Psychedelic Pin Pop-Up in Chicago, Celebrates Changemakers Impact Fund Recipients
Gucci opened GG Psychedelic Pin pop-up in Chicago’s West Loop this weekend with a chic event dedicated to not only the debut of the new psychedelic pin collection, but also celebrating Gucci Changemakers North America, the inclusion and diversity arm of the brand striving for equality in the fashion industry. In January, Changemakers announced the first recipients of the five-year Gucci North America Changemakers Impact Fund and awarded Chicago’s After School Matters and Braven — among 16 recipients nationwide — with grants of up to $50,000 for a one-year funding cycle.
To celebrate the recently awarded Chicago-based recipients, Gucci invited After School Matters and Braven youth to the Chicago GG Psychedelic Pin to enjoy an afternoon with athletes like Derrick Rose and Nick Young, and friends of Gucci, like Spike Lee, just in time for All-Star Weekend.
Event goers were also able to peruse the new GG Psychedelic Pin collection, which is all about 1970s psychedelia. It features men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, luggage, handbags and accessories and offers a new variation of the Gucci monogram by incorporating a rainbow of colors. It is a unique, impactful and most certainly collectible lineup, especially the limited edition basketball exclusive to the Chicago store.
The GG Psychedelic Pin pup-up occupies an old bank building in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, and in true Gucci fashion, matches the psychedelic tones of the collection. Think disco balls, nocturnal elements and a fantastical nightclub feel, which makes it a must-visit if you are in town.
GG Psychedelic Pop-Up in Chicago is open until March 2. It is located at 160 N. Morgan Street and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
