A week after celebrating its new Gucci Zumi handbag collection at the 5th Avenue flagship store in New York City, Gucci threw another chic soiree Thursday evening — this time at the Chicago flagship at 900 North Michigan. Guests enjoyed cocktails and small bites while Alaska Lynch recited his poetry dedicated to Zumi, followed by a DJ set by Zumi Rosow.
The Gucci Zumi handbag capsule is named after actor and experimental musician Zumi Rosow, Gucci’s newest muse. She first introduced the Zumi handbag during Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2019 runway show in Paris last September.

Unconventional and modern, the epitome of a free spirit, Rosow’s striking, individual look creates an intriguing and surprising contrast with the restrained refinement of the bag. The collection does remain true to Gucci’s signature quirkiness, however, and spans a variety of styles from large totes to bucket bags.
