Indie Swimwear Brands to Put on Your Radar

Swimwear, Indie swimwear brands

Whether you are in lockdown taking pictures in your living room, hanging outside in the park, or perhaps even lounging poolside, we want to introduce you to a slew of indie swimwear brands that will elevate your swim style game. So now after four months in isolation, it’s time to get some much-needed Vitamin D wearing something pretty. We deserve it.

Nettle’s Tale

This Vancouver-based brand offers swimwear for women of all sizes. It launched in 2014 and found immediate success, and since 2019 expanded to include apparel. Nettle’s Tale offers bright, cool and affordable pieces, and their motto is “Made for and modeled by bodies like yours.” Isn’t that awesome?!

Zulu & Zephyr

If there’s one thing Australians know really well, it’s swimsuits. This gorgeous Australian line offers beautiful swimwear, which is not only fairly priced but also has less impact on the environment. The brand is a member of 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses who donate 1% of their yearly gross sales to support value-aligned environmental non-profits.

Andrea Iyamah

If you are a maximalist and love bold colors, superb prints and innovative design, then look no further than Andrea Iymah. The Nigerian designer takes inspiration from African cultures and the results are stunning. It is a pricier brand but totally worth it because the swimwear is one of a kind.
