NYFW Runway Report: Francesca Liberatore Fall 2017
According to the show’s notes, the Francesca Liberatore Fall 2017 collection is a trip to two distinctively different Hyde Parks: One is back in the 90s in London where Oasis groupies hung out; the other is Hyde Park in New York where Franklin Delano Roosevelt lived. In other words, Liberatore explored the worlds of the powerful and popular, and how their actions shaped society.
One would think those two worlds are too different to be merged into a cohesive fashion collection, but Loberatore let it happen. Bold colors like rich blood orange, brick red and magenta translated into strong pieces, like an athleisure inspired paints and jacket combo plastered with drawn out figurines all over; or the Freedom From Want fringed scarf draped across shoulders. But the most noteworthy item was a gorgeous, shimmery gold trench with exaggerated pockets and a sinched waist.
