Runway Report: Badgley Mischka Spring 2018

Mark Badgley and James Mischka are taking their American girl to Capri next spring. Riva launch, limestone cliffs, crushed lemons with mint, terracotta plazas, salt-sprayed hair. These are some of the experiences the Badgley Mischka Spring 2018 girl will have, and quite frankly I wish I could be part of that special group of ladies headed to Capri next season.
The collection offered a full lifestyle for the Capri-bound girl. From when she gets up in the morning, goes to the beach in different swimsuits, to all the day clothes, and ending in a ball gown. The colors were just as one would imagine the hues of Capri would be — orange, lemon, fuchsia, fennel, raspberry, navy. And so were the fabrics —  poplin, linen hopsack, jersey, satin crepe, lace, tulle and organza. But probably the most interesting part about the collection were the first-ever Badgley Mischka T-shirts, which the men advised Vogue’s Monica Kim, pairing with jeans or a ball-gown skirt.
