NYFW Runway Report: Sachin & Babi Fall 2017

Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia have always had a flare for the opulent, and what’s a better way to signify the opulent than by creating a collection that pays homage to their Indian heritage under the British Raj era of the late 19th century.

Bejeweled pieces, lively prints, golden taffeta, architectural silk gowns fused cultures and gave us, the audience, a strange sense of nostalgia for the past. But we digress. Some favorite looks included the show’s opening look — a golden taffeta nipped at the waist, as well as the stunning floral, embroidered tail coat paired with a simple black skirt. We also loved the few plunging necklines that peeped here and there.
