See and Shop the Only Spring 2018 Trends Worth Your Time (and Money)
We don’t know about you, but we’ve been itching for the new fashion season to begin for a while now, and we are getting quite impatient with it. The only thing that’s keeping us sane is flipping through spring 2018 trends and deciding what to buy, which spring 2018 trends are worth it, and how much we should really spend on them.
Same boat? Allow us to help with our comprehensive and very affordable spring 2018 trends guide completely worth your time and money.
I Can See Clearly Now
Clearly, PVC is having a moment for Spring. The trend started after Raf Simons debuted a plastic-covered fur coat for Calvin Klein Fall 2017, and then everyone followed: Balmain, Chanel, and Valentino all picked up on the trend. If plastic is your thing, however, wear on your own discretion. What will happen to all of this PVC once the trend is out of vogue? We don’t want more plastic thrown in landfills. Just some food for thought.
Logo on Logo on Logo
Logo mania is nothing new, but now even more brands are jumping on the band wagon — besides Gucci. Loewe, Fendi, Versace and Monse all showed logos in an updated, refreshed way. And PS Fendi logo mania is the newest street style obsession.
Lavender Dreams
Each spring a new pastel color emerges (shocker, we know) and for 2018 that color is sweet lavender. It’s soft and pretty, and quite frankly better than millennial pink. The way to wear lavender? Head to toe, as demonstrated by Victoria Beckham, Max Mara and Valentino below. Style tip: do NOT pair with lavender accessories.
Parkas are the New Black
If you get one topper for spring, let it be a cool parka. The off-duty coat will keep you on trend and shield from the elements, all the while adding a super chic vibe to your look. Our favorite parkas come from Bottega Veneta, Valentino and Calvin Klein. Pair yours with a pointy shoe for a trendy, runway-inspired look.
Ruched up
Designers are finally giving us a little room to breathe. Gone is stiff corsetry, and in came ruching — which is so much more comfortable! Cinched fabric around waists and busts were seen at Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, Peter Pilotto and No. 21, and frankly we cannot get enough.
It’s a Fanny Pack
Remember how many of us were rolling their eyes at street style stars for wearing the quintessential dad and grandpa accessory, the fanny pack? Well, laugh no more because the fanny pack is here to stay, and the most important accessory from the spring 2018 trends. Minimalist, sporty, sleek, whatever your aesthetic, there is a bag for you. Plus, you can wear it virtually any way you want: hi–slung, across your body, or tight as a belt.
90s Sunglasses
It’s time to give your oversized sunnies a break — there’s a new sunglasses trend in town bound to take over our faces. 90s style sunnies are a thing, thanks to Prada, Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga, so find a pair with razor edges, fun colors and smaller frames.
Black & White Polka Dots
Move over spring florals, black and white polka dots are taking over as the it print for the new season. And they came in various shapes as well: super small at Rodarte, medium-sized at Carolina Herrera, and oversized at Junya Watanabe. Pick your faves and wear head-to-toe.
Thoughts on the above spring 2018 trends? Does anything get you excited for warmer weather?
