9 Totally Wearable Spring 2017 Trends (Plus, Where to Shop Them)
Is it just me, or were the Spring 2017 runways kind of meh. Very much been there, done that, no? (i.e. romanticism, florals for Spring? Groundbreaking :/) BUT. There are still a handful of trends worthy of mentioning on our pages, namely because they are wearable and fun. Â So consider this post as a chance to brush up on the most functional spring 2017 trends.
Here we go.
80s Glam
One-shoulder, strong shoulders, metallics, mini lengths and lots and lots of sequins—houses from Saint Laurent to Vuitton are taking time machines back to the glorious and often tacky 80s. But hey, why not?
50 Shades of Pink
And by that, I mean all shades of pink, thank God. Fuchsia, strawberry, rose, and bubble gum all made runway appearances. Personally, I cannot get enough of the pale pink at Céline.
Flatforms
For all of us who want the hight but are tired of heels, flatforms to the rescue! The trends continues strong from last season and no one is complaining.
Bold Stripes
Stripes are nothing new on the runways, but this time around they come mostly in big and bold primary colors. The feel is sporty and cool, see Proenza Schouler below — one of my favorite spring 2017 looks. Â The blue, black and cherry reds combos are striking and fresh.
Utility Green
Utility green will be our neutral come spring, and I am not mad about it. The muted, earthy color was seen across the global runways, including Loewe, Kenzo, Altuzarra, Tod’s, Ferragamo and more. How gorgeous is the Bottega pantsuit below though?
Buzz Words
Whether it’s politically correct or not, designers chose to express political and social opinions through words slapped across tees, sleeves and sweatshirts. The trend was solidified by Dior and their We Should All Be Feminists tee, currently the most worn T-shirt in the world.
Super Sized Earrings
The kind that exhausts your entire accessory limit. The trend is rather refreshing actually, since minimal jewelry has been a thing for a few seasons now. Just threat lightly should you choose to try this trend. There is a slight possibility you can end up looking like a Xmas tree, see Delpozo.
White Shirt Dress
The boring white shirt is updated for the season thanks to longer hemlines, interesting waistlines and luscious fabrics.  Get your work wardrobe ready.
XXL Handbags
Your earrings won’t be the only super-sized accessory come spring. XXL handbags have swept the runways from the likes of Balenciaga, Céline and Sonia Rykiel.
