Top Pre-Fall 2018 Looks To Inspire You During This Deep Freeze
It’s been below zero for several weeks now in Chicago, and the only distraction we have from the misery of this weather is fashion. We already tried to make a few fashion predictions for the New Year, all the while perusing through the pre-fall 2018 collections that have been quietly dropping since early December. Thankfully, the pre season looks have been much worthy of attention and we have compiled the top pre-fall 2018 looks to help you through this deep freeze.
But before you dive right in, here are a few things we’ve noticed — trends-wise — from pre-fall. Keep onto those white accessories, ladies, especially the white boots and pumps because they are not going anywhere this year. From MM6 to Piazza Sempione and Victoria Beckham in between, white footwear was paired with every possible look you can imagine. All-sequined looks are also big ( no surprise here considering pre-fall usually hits the stores around the holidays) particularly daytime sequins and we are loving all the looks from Milly, Narciso Rodriguez, Tibi, Preen, Sachin & Babi, Sportsmax, Temprely and Dundas.
Much to our surprise, there’s also the sort of a fringe comeback. Inasmuch as we are not huge fans of the trend, the versions at  MM6, Naeem Khan, Norma Kamali, Pamela Rolland and Tadashi Shoji weren’t half bad. Plaid is also coming into its own according to pre-fall, and the versions at Tomas Maier, Jill Sander, Tome, Victoria Beckham, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Emilia Wickstead caught our eye. Elsewhere, designers opted for logo belts, and we love the fully written out logo belts from Sonia Rykiel and Altuzarra; animal prints are also prominent — snake skin print at Emilia Wickstead, leopard print at Tempreley London. Pay attention to utility overalls –we saw some really good versions from Nicole Miller, Norma Kamali, and Versace.
Speaking of Versace, Donatella completely outdid herself for pre-fall. This might be one of our favorite Versace collections in a long while. And the reason is because Donatella came back to her family roots and payed homage to the late Gianni. Tight dresses, oversize sweaters, city coats, and padded bombers all adorned with the updated Versace logo. At the same time she never lost the Versace sex-appeal –like velvet onto a pajama suit. To.Die.For.
