Made in Chicago: HERO/BLACK Should be Your New Fashion Obsession
If you are on the hunt for a new, cool fashion obsession, then look no more because we found it for you. It’s called HERO/BLACK and it’s easily the coolest brand we’ve seen in a while. Â We discovered the Chicago-based line during a chic soiree at the Virgin Hotels last week for the brand’s Fall 2015 launch party.
Headed by the dynamic designer duo Angela Brantley and Rhea Fernandez, HERO/BLACK is your answer to the cool, downtown, street style vibe Chicago design so desperately needed. Brantley and Fernandez started collaborating and designing together two years ago, creating a fashion line for the woman who is bold, strong and effortlessly sexy.
“She is chic, even when she’s disheveled,” they told me at the launch party. Â “We launched H/B because we both wanted to create something special.”
The brand is really something special. Their fall 2015 collection has a full range of statement pieces for fall and winter, layering pieces, metallics and leather. A black wool bomber with leather sleeves, a muscle, see-through tee in organza, multitude of graphic tees are just some of our favorites.
But how does the Hero/Black brand differ from similar urban lines on the market?
“There’s only one Hero/Black,” Angela and Rhea said. “The interplay between our two personalities drives a very unique aesthetic. We marry street wear with architectural cuts and love to play with masculine versus feminine silhouettes.”
Two peas in a fashion pod, really.
Be sure to click through the entire collection in the slideshow, and prepare to swoon.
