Milan FashionWeek SS17 Score Card: Do Italians Do it Better?
The Spring 2017 collections at Milan Fashion Week  kicked of with a bang. But let’s take a look and see wether or not Italians do it better.
Ever since Alessandro Michele took the helm at Gucci, his runway show has become arguably the most anticipated collection of MFW. This season he showed his newest inspirations in a pink, smoky filled room, and perfectly set the stage for his hauntingly romantic looks. If that doesn’t sound dreamy enough, Florence Welch serenaded guests like Dakota Johnson, Serena Williams, Soko, and Anna Wintour as they filled into their FROW seats.
Another major celebrity moment? Paris Hilton and Fergie joined the models at the Philipp Plein show titled Alice in Ghetto Land. The set, in typically over-the-top Plein fashion, featured a carousel of spinning models, a marching band, a vintage Volkswagen ice cream truck, white picket fences, and a gnome named “Pimp”.

Miuccia Prada showed her collection inside the futuristic Fondazione Prada. Feather, plaid, slides, and colorful patterns popped on the cold steel runway. We’re getting serious Cher Horowitz meets 70s librarian. Fendi also was showing future meets past vibes with a “techno rococo” collection.

Meanwhile, Gigi and Bella walked the runway for Jeremy Scott in his Moschino show dressed like the paper dolls, a novelty from our childhood. Scott seems to be sticking to his brand after his Barbie show seasons ago.
But MFW doesn’t end there. Check back later this week for more updates on the best — and worst — fashion moments in Milan, plus our pick for top 100 looks.
