These are the Most Exciting NYFW Fall 2018 Trends

NYFW Fall 2018 trends

The Fall 2018 collections hit the New York Fashion Week runways this week, and we’ve been tracking all the emerging trends for the new season. Let’s dive right into it.

Yellow is the New Black

We saw major pops of the sunshine color across many a runway, and many a way. Bottega Veneta — who showed in New York this season — opened the show with a silky, yellow pajama suit and later gave us the most beautiful all-yellow suit. Tibi threw the color onto coats, and Milly opted for a lovely skirt suit.

Bright Animal Prints

Show your bold side in some must-wear animal print! Yes, animal prints are back in a big way for Fall 2018 but this time designers reimagined them in statement-making colors. Case in point: the acid greens and yellows at Tom Ford, bright oranges at R13, and the poppy blues at Carolina Herrera.

Satin Feels

Lucid, shiny, head-to-toe satin ensembles came out big on the New York runways. Boss and Self-Portrait opted for satin dresses, but we are loving the satin versions at Bottega, Jason Wu and Zimmerman. If you opt to wear satin in the new season, be sure to  shop for vibrant jewel tones.

Red x Pink Combo

It’s safe to say that pink and red are the winning combo of NYFW.  From Brandon Maxwell and Self Portrait to Prabal Gurung and Tibi, red and pink combo might be our favorite NYFW Fall 2018 trend.

Statement-Making Tights

Blame it on the huge 80s influences sweeping almost every runway, because colorful, statement-making tights are making a comeback next season. From bright a orange at Adam Selman to animal prints at Tom Ford and traffic-stopping neons at Jeremy Scott, whichever color you are into, odds are it will be in style when it comes to hosiery next season.

Silver Lining

Next season’s silver takes an influence from foil really. It’s reflective and protective, and many designers interpreted it in their own way. Our favorite comes from Calvin Klein, where designer Raf Simons delivered his own clever spin on the look: an all reflective dress/gloves/boots combo we can;t get enough of.

Quilted

There’s a new life in quilted materials, very different than the bag forms we are used to seeing it. The puffer-like texture come in unexpected silhouettes thanks to Nicole Miller, Derek Lam, Oscar de la Renta and Prabal Gurung.  We are particularly loving the elegant knee-length skirt at Prabal.

The Hottest Pink

Move over millennial pink, there’s a new pink in town! It’s hot, bright and gorgeous and designers threw it on everything – lady-like skirts to short rompers, suits, goats and blouses. The key here is to wear it all-over — as shown by Tory Burch, Ulia Johnson and Alexander Wang below — not just a pop here and there.

Sexy Suits

NSFW, short-skirted, off-the-shoulder suits are the latest interpretations of the 9-to-5 gear.  Alexander Wang was so focused on work gear this season he held his show in a vacant office space. If you dare to wear these versions to your office, we’d say the more power to you. If not, they are perfectly suited (pun intended) for a night out.

What do you guys think of these NYFW Fall 2018 trends? Are you into any of them?
