The Most Wearable Spring Fashion Trends 2020

We are officially in March and thisclose to warm weather and a whole new wardrobe. Let’s take a look at the most wearable spring fashion trends 2020 that every woman of every age and size can wear come spring, plus a few shopping suggestions.

Tube Tops

Ahh the tube top! The minimalist, chic, 90s staple is back, and we can’t wait to put one on this summer. If you wonder how to wear one, we can offer several tips. Take inspiration from the runway and pair with a maxi skirt. You can also layer it over or under other pieces, like over a white shirt or a tee  for a more fashion-forward look  or under a cute pair overalls for a laid back summer look.

Crochet

Crochet, like an old family heirloom, is making a comeback for spring. Think Grandma’s handmade crochet with an updated look in the form of ultra-feminine dresses. We are particularly fond of the finely knitted number at Gabriella Hearst, but whatever your preference is, there is a crochet dress for you. And the best part? You can pass it to the next generation.

Mint Green

Nothing says refreshing and clean more that mint. For the new season many designers embraced the color and showed full iterations of the color ala Batsheva above, or paired with a muted color as seen on the Gucci runway. Mint really is a happy spring color and if you don’t feel like wearing it head to toe, then incorporate a pop of mint green into your wardrobe through accessaries and separates.

Hot Pants

Get ready to show some leg, ladies, because hot pants are officially a thing for spring.  But don’t fret! Hot pants came in all shapes and sizes, much like all of us. There are the itty bitty knit ones at Hermès, or denim cutoffs at Isabel Marant, and even dressed up versions at Saint Laurent.

Leather is Back

Leather has been slowly coming back since the Fall 2019 runways, but for Spring 2020, the luxe look is all about cool colors. Bright orange, cool white, tan colors, vibrant blues, you name it you can wear it in a leather form. The way to wear the trend is to to have a casual, laid back approach to it. Don’t overdo the makeup.  Pair a bright leather trouser with a super simple tank, or a leather dress with a casual sneaker.

Bermuda Suits

Even if it’s not a suit per say, Bermudas will make a triumphant return into our wardrobes this spring. The trend is a welcomed one, particularly for those of us who run by the thought of shorty shirts and hot pants. If you are not into the whole match-y suit thing, take inspiration from Tom Ford’s runway and pair a Bermuda with a different color blazer. Or, ditch the blazer all together and opt for a comfy shirt.  Literally everyone can pull of this trend.

The Vest

Nothing is sexier in our book than a woman rocking a menswear inspired vest. Whether included as part of a three-piece suit like Givenchy, or mismatched with a jacket at Louis Vuitton, the vest is flattering and dapper, and appeals to women of all ages and sizes. Don’t be afraid to wear it with nothing underneath!

Off to a Safari (without killing animals)

Utility trend? For Spring? Groundbreaking.  Well, before you judge us let us explain. Safari jackets with large cargo pockets have replaced the expected utility jumpsuit or classic cargo pants. The colors are light and bright, the waists are cinched. If you off to an adventure this spring, you’ll be the chicest guest in the Serengeti. Guaranteed.
