Tadashi Shoji Collaborates with Chicago’s LVX for Fall 2017
It’s no secret that one of our favorite Chicago companies is LVXÂ –Â the luxury, vegan, high-fashion nail lacquer brand driven by the global runways, and producing colors like no other. (Trust us when we say that it is the best nail polish you will ever wear.) So of course, it was only a matter of time before designers in NYC caught on to the gorgeous colors LVX produces each season, and partner with LVX for fashion week.
This season LVX collaborated for the second time with designer Tadashi Shoji to create the nail look for their fall 2017 collection, which just showed at New York Fashion Week.
“Their team reached out to us last season with an interest to partner together,” LVX creative director Branka Tomic said. “It was such a natural and organic fit for LVX to sponsor the nail look for Tadashi. Both brands align well and truly compliment one another. Not to mention their team is DREAM to work with! It was obvious we would continue to work together going forward for AW17.”
Tadashi Shoji along with LVX’s creative team designed the look not only to compliment the designer’s vision– they created a nail that completes and seals the season’s look, Tomic added.
The Fall 2017 nail look was created using LVX in Eiffel, a metallic champagne shade, plus a Gel Top Coat; nail gurus Teresa King and Lisa Lee executed the look to a T.
“Texture played a very important part in the nail design for the show as metallics, velvet, lace, and sheer layers are all prominent in this collection,” King said. “We translated this into a complementary nail look that required a custom blend of four shades of loose glitter in jewel tones. These were applied to the free edge of the nails over the metallic champagne shade, Eiffel, to create a bit of a 70s mirror ball effect as the metallic lacquer and glitter subtly blend into one another when they meet in the center. It creates an optical illusion of sorts as light bounces off of the reflective surfaces. The length and shape of the nails was also carefully thought out and we settled on a medium length oval nail to heighten the romantic drama of the look. To secure the glitter in place and provide a high gloss finish, we used the LVX Gel topcoat.”
Isn’t this such a pretty nail look? Of course, if you want to recreate it you can nix the glitter and wear Eiffel on its own.
