The 57 Best Couture Spring 2019 Looks

Despite the cold and snow in Paris, flowers were blooming, sun was shining and bright colors were popping inside the grand Parisian couture salons for the spring 2019 collections. Couture is usually always good, but this season seemed more special than ever.

Pier Paolo Piccoli showed a Valentino collection that made everyone cry tears of joy — literally. It was so beautiful, so colorful and so opulent that Celine Dion declared Piccoli has given back women their beauty. The clothes were so spectacular, and also perfectly complemented by the incredible beauty look courtesy of Pat McGrath, who created literal butterfly lashes for the models.

Viktor & Rolf spoke directly to the Instagram generation by sending gown/meme hybrids down the runway. Slogans like, “Less is More,” “I am My Own Muse,” “I am Not Shy I Just Don’t Like You,” and “Fuck This I am Going to Paris,” were splattered across gowns with no excuse. Honesty is the best policy in our book, so huge thumbs up for Viktor & Rolf for speaking truths.

Another quite memorable collection was that of Givenchy. Clare Waight Keller used a modern approach to the entire line, with memorably using latex as an accent and juxtaposed against lace, or used as a glove for a gown, all to a spectacular effect.

There were, of course a few doozies this season pf couture, namely Maison Margiela (which pains me to write because I love John Galliano), and the semi-successful first couture collection of Olivier Rousteing for Balmain. But we are not here to talk about the bad. Peep through the slide below for the best couture spring 2019 looks and get inspired!
