Victoria’s Secret Model Elsa Hosk on Selfies, the VS Fashion Show & More

Victoria’s Secret PINK model Elsa Hosk hosted a live screening of The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Chicago last Tuesday, giving customers and fans alike the opportunity to check out the exclusive PINK fashion show collection as well as pose for photos with Elsa. We, of course, spent some one-on-one time with the gorgeous Swedish model and talked fashion, Windy City weather and how she prepares for one of the most famous runways in the world, the Victoria Secret Fashion Show.

FashionFiles: Welcome to Chicago, Elsa! How do you like the weather here?

Elsa: I am Swedish and very much used to this type of weather, I like a lot of layers so I feel right at home.

FashionFiles:  It’s probably not a very-well known fact but you are a former basketball player. How did the sport help you in your career as a model?

Elsa: Basketball has helped me become more disciplined as a model. The sport taught me endurance and strength.

FashionFiles: How does the PINK line fit with your personal style?

Elsa: I am very laid back and not fussy at all. I like comfortable clothes, and the VS PINK line is the epitome of comfort. The PINK girl is cool, smart, strong and effortless and I love representing that. She is independent and like to have fun, and so am I.

FashionFiles: Can you share some of your favorite items from the new line?

Elsa: I love it all, but some of my favorites are the Bling Perfect Zip Hootie I wore for the Fashion Show and the Sequin Triangle Bralette in black. It’s the  cutest!

FashionFiles: Speaking of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, this is your third catwalk as a PINK model. How do you prepare — both physically and mentally — for such huge popular spectacle.

Elsa: In the week’s prior to the show I kick up my workout regime, and work out almost daily. I personally do a lot of boxing. Mentally, I try to have fun with it. I will never forget the advice I got from Adriana Lima a couple of year ago right before my first VS show. She told me right  before I walked on the runway ‘Just go and have fun!’ And that’s what I try to do. Have fun.

FashionFiles: And finally, in a world full of Instagram and Twitter photos, could you give our readers advice on how to take the best selfie?

Elsa: [Laughs] be natural and don’t pretend do be anyone else but yourself.
